   Welcome...

Welcome to Girl Guides in Edmonton Area. Guiding is a worldwide Movement for girls, led by women who are young at heart. It’s a place where girls and women can be themselves, have fun, make new friends and participate in new adventures. Guiding has long contributed to success among girls and women by providing opportunities for fun, friendship, adventures, personal and leadership development and community involvement.

Guiding empowers girls and women to face challenges with confidence. Through the program, girls learn to be independent and are empowered to reach their potential.

Divided into thirteen districts, Edmonton Area includes the Edmonton metropolitan area as well as the surrounding communities of Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Beaumont, Bruderheim, Camrose, Cooking Lake, Fort McMurray, Fort Saskatchewan, Killam, Lamont, Tofield and more.  Are you interested in joining us? Click the JOIN US tab on the menu bar above to determine the District to which you'd belong and who to contact so you or your daughter can get involved and join the fun!

Each year on February 22, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world participate in activities and projects with global themes and celebrate the international Guiding Movement. And Feb. 19-26, 2012 marks Guide-Scout Week, too!The theme for World Thinking Day 2012 is “we can save our planet”, based on UN Millennium Development Goal 7: environmental sustainability. WAGGGS has created a great online hub for Unit Guiders, with activity ideas, information about the theme, and other resources.
