Saturday April 22nd
Head downtown to the Edmonton Law Courts Building near Winston Churchill Square on Saturday, April 22nd, for Law Day. This is a free, family friendly event that is open to the public. There are tours of the Law Courts including the holding cells and courtrooms. High school students will be participating in mock trials for the public to view. There’s also a mock constitutional appeal to determine if police are allowed to go through your garbage for evidence. There are also several plays for younger children to attend. Your unit could see an application for Guardianship of Dorothy by the Wizard of Oz who wants her to stay in Oz. Or join in deciding if Alice will have to pay damages to the Queen of Hearts for all the destruction she caused in Wonderland. Or you could see what happens when Princess Peach takes the stand to accuse Mario of throwing a turtle shell at her. Law Day is always happy to see so many Girl Guides attend. Hope to see you this year! For more information please click HERE.
