Deadline to drop off challenge items is November 17th 2017

The Candle Project: One of the things Edmonton Mental Health Association does on a regular basis is holds survivor memorials. At these events each person attend-ing is given a candle to light in memory of someone they have lost. I challenge units to make candles for these events. They can be of any style (poured wax, beeswax rolled, dipped, etc) and can include hidden messages of hope or just be plain. Please avoid making heavily scented candles. Along with each candle the Edmonton Mental Health Association would like a small package of Kleenex attached. Candles and Kleenex need be delivered to our office by November 17, 2017 for entry into the contest.

Thank You Favours: As we know volunteers are the key to any organization; as such we want to create small thank you gifts to give to the volunteers that answer the distress phones. These gifts should be small bags of 3 or 4 pieces (not more than 5 please!) of hard candies with a ribbon and perhaps a little tag with a positive message or thank you greeting on it. Please use wrapped candy whenever possible. All completed thank you favours need to be turned in to the Area office no later than November 17th.

If your district falls outside of Edmonton; I challenge you to contact your local Mental Health Association and complete a challenge for them. To earn a spot in the contest, you just need to participate, it does not need to be in Edmonton.

Submission of these items puts your unit in the running for the Commish’s Holiday Spirit Challenge; so fill out the form(click HERE). After all, who doesn’t love a Pizza Party?
